Association of Lowland Search & Rescue

The UK's governing body for Lowland Rescue

COVID-19 How you can help us

All our Lowland Rescue teams are committed to remaining operational throughout the COVID 19 pandemic. As well as providing our normal life saving search and rescue operation many teams and members are also supporting the NHS and are available to support the emergency services.

To keep us operational we need to protect our members by ensuring we have enough Personal Protection Equipment.

Please use the donate now button to make a financial donation or email fundraising@lowlandrescue.org if you would like more information or feel you can help in a different way.

The Association of Lowland Search & Rescue is the governing body for the UK’s 36 Lowland Rescue teams. Our teams provide professional volunteers for specialist search and rescue in non-mountainous parts of the UK. We work From Hill to High Water® The Association is the ONLY provider of nationally accredited missing-person search standards in the UK, and our teams work to a common standard across the country. Lowland Rescue specialists work alongside Mountain Rescue, Cave Rescue, Coastguard Rescue, SARDA Search Dogs, the RNLI and independent lifeboats to provide the UK’s voluntary rescue service, and each member team is partnered to work with their local emergency services. Unlike Mountain Rescue which predominantly deals with casualties in terrain which most ambulances cannot access, Lowland Rescue teams typically deal with wide-area searches for vulnerable people whose location is unknown. Our members train in advanced search techniques for land and water. And we provide medical care and safe transport of any casualty or vulnerable person to a place of safety once found. Many of our teams expand their role locally to provide civil contingency, flood or emergency medical support as needed by their local authorities. You can find your local team here (LINK)
